About The Position
As an Activities Coordinator at MorningStar Senior Living, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning, coordinating, and directing a vibrant community life program. This position is centered around creating meaningful life enrichment activities tailored to the interests, preferences, abilities, and needs of our residents. You will be responsible for recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting life enrichment assistants and volunteers, ensuring that our programs are engaging and beneficial for all residents. Your responsibilities will include developing partnerships with both internal and external community resources to enrich our residents' lives. You will coordinate the life enrichment resident review process and contribute to resident care plans, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. The role requires a deep understanding of the residents' needs, allowing you to organize programs that cater to their physical, social, religious, intellectual, and creative interests. In addition to organizing activities, you will maintain a balance of recreational programs, ensuring that daily group activities are executed effectively and that resident engagement is maximized. You will communicate these programs to residents, their families, volunteers, and facility staff, fostering a collaborative environment. Your role will also involve identifying and addressing personal, emotional, and environmental concerns that may hinder residents from fully utilizing their medical and restorative care. You will prepare and post monthly life enrichment calendars, reflecting a diverse range of activities that appeal to all residents. This includes conducting surveys to assess the effectiveness of the activity programs and making necessary adjustments based on feedback. Your position will also require you to assist residents with communication needs and coordinate transportation for activities, ensuring that all residents can participate fully in community life. Overall, this role is about making a difference in the lives of our residents by providing them with opportunities for engagement, connection, and joy in their daily lives.
