About The Position

The Assistant Coach for Boys Swimming & Diving at Southington High School is responsible for assisting and directing the team under the guidance of the Head Coach. This role includes a variety of responsibilities such as instructing and practicing skills and techniques, promoting sportsmanship, preparing for contests with a solid understanding of game concepts and strategies, as well as managing purchasing, scheduling, supervising, and record keeping.

Requirements

• Must hold a CT coaching permit.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Completion of CT Coaching Education Program (CCEP) Module 15 on Concussion and Head Injury education.
• Thorough knowledge of swimming and diving as a sport.
• Demonstrated technical and tactical knowledge of swimming and diving.
• Ability to motivate high school student athletes.

Nice To Haves

• Past coaching experience in swimming and diving.

Responsibilities

• Assist and direct the Boys Swimming & Diving team under the Head Coach.
