About The Position

Novellus Cypresswood is seeking an energetic and passionate Activities Assistant to join the team in this full-time role. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in enriching the lives of our residents and guests by assisting in the planning and execution of engaging programs and activities. Your efforts will contribute to fostering socialization, relaxation, and recreation within our community.

Requirements

Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
Excellent resource management, computer, record keeping, interpersonal, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
Flexibility to work when needed, especially evenings, weekends, or early mornings.
Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
High School graduate or equivalent GED.
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during events.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Ability to set up and participate in activities, which may include squatting, bending, and lifting.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a senior living setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist with planning and facilitating daily, weekly, and monthly events to encourage socialization, relaxation, and recreation.
Assist with development and creation of activity calendars and newsletters.
Motivates and encourages residents to learn and engage in the programs.
Keeps records regarding event planning resources, participant interest, and other notable information, such as injuries or behavioral incidents.
Reads the staff communication records and maintains familiarity with resident records as required.
Assists with open houses and other community functions as needed.
Observes all work, safety, and administrative rules.
Avoids loss, breakage and waste of supplies and equipment.
Observes participants at events to gauge their enjoyment.
Obtains participant feedback to improve events.
Reports medical concerns or observations.
Provides participants with instructions for the event.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the Activities Manager/ Director.
