The Activities Assistant supports the daily delivery of person‑centered activities and programs within an Adult Day Program. This role helps create meaningful, engaging experiences that promote independence, community involvement, and overall well‑being for participants. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and leading individual‑centered activities, volunteer programs, and community-based outings. Support the preparation of monthly activity calendars and newsletters. Coordinate and lead designated field trips and special events, including holiday celebrations, parties, and Special Olympics activities. Encourage participant engagement and community participation. Provide transportation assistance to and from activities as needed. Participate in planning meetings and contribute ideas for programming. Support implementation of treatment‑related goals and promote participant independence. Maintain inventory of activity supplies, games, and craft materials. Recommend techniques, materials, and environmental adjustments to enhance functional and cognitive abilities. Respond appropriately to emergency situations and participate in safety drills. Ensure scheduled activities are carried out effectively.
