About The Position

Purpose The Activity Assistant supports the Program Director in leading and executing the Activity program for the community. The Activity Assistant carries out a specific set of tasks to fulfill the standards of the Activity program. The Activity Assistant works closely with the Program Director. Qualifications • Two years’ college in a heath care field or an activities professional by a recognized accrediting body. • Experience in a senior housing environment strongly preferred. • Two years’ experience in recreation preferred. • Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge. • Acceptable Driving Record. • Prefer CDL Driver’s License, or the ability/willingness to obtain CDL. • Must have the ability to work effectively with technology and maintain or assist in maintaining our SMILE family engagement/calendar creator platform • Must have an acceptable driving record that allows driver to be insured on the company insurance Areas of Primary Responsibility • Assists the Program Director with planning, developing, and preparing a variety of exercise, social, recreational and educational events. • Arranges medical transportation for residents. • Assists with the production of the community monthly calendar newsletter. • Assists with move-in process by providing information and guidance to new residents. • Maintains knowledge of communities, services, and events in the area and incorporates into activity schedule as appropriate. • Establishes a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff. • Promotes teamwork and positive attitude among the staff • Continually evaluates the quality and consistency of activities for residents and suggests adjustments, corrections, and changes as necessary. • Ability to drive a company vehicle (required driver). • Other duties as assigned • Ensures all personnel exemplify the core values of the company at all times. Physical/Sensory Requirements The Activity Assistant is a highly active position, with the person leading physical activities for the residents. The Activity Assistant position requires long stretches on one’s feet and long stretches requiring the person to drive the community van

Requirements
