About The Position

Hendricks Community Hospital Association is seeking a qualified individual to join our team! Position Highlights Accountable for performing assigned activities in accordance with established procedures and directives to assist in meeting the activity needs of the nursing home residents of the facility. Starting hourly wage is $19.00 an hour. Rate based on experience Weekend and holiday rotation is required. Responsibilities

  • Assist and/or lead assigned group or one-to-one activity programs.
  • Implement the activities on the activities calendar and special events, sometimes with little to no direction.
  • Responsible for supporting the Activities Supervisor through assisting with the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the activities program.
  • Assist residents to and from activity program.
  • Report any changes in resident behavior, safety hazards, or procedural difficulties to the Activity Supervisor or Director of Nursing.
  • Assists the Activities Supervisor with monitoring the response and evaluation of the programs to determine if the activities meet the assessed needs of the resident(s).
  • Distribute monthly activity calendar to residents.
  • Post calendars on designated display boards.
  • Assist with evaluation of each resident according to their background, activity interest, abilities, physical limitations, and need for meaningful activity program.
  • Acquaints new residents with services offered in the activities and remotivation programs and aids the residents in adjusting to the new environment.
  • Maintain appropriate charting.
  • Develop and display theme and holiday decorations throughout the facility.
  • Assist with maintaining current organizational system or special needs list.
  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings, in-service training programs, and other meetings as assigned.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment and supplies in a neat and safe manner.
  • Other duties as directed by the Activity Supervisor or Director of Nursing.
