About The Position

As an Activities Assistant, you assist the Director of Therapeutic Recreation and/or Memory Care Program Coordinator in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Therapeutic Recreation Department to ensure that an ongoing program of activities designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of each resident is maintained. In this role, you will assist in the plans and provisions of patient care by visiting residents regularly to evaluate needs. You will document and report to the nursing department any unusual or significant findings and report all reportable events immediately in accordance with our policy. Encouraging residents to take part in activities of daily living that will stimulate their potential physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually is a key part of your responsibilities. You will spend duty time with residents rather than with other facility staff and assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.
