About The Position

The Activities Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in a long-term care setting by planning and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities. Requirements

• One year of experience required
• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and the chronically ill
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living setting is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of activities for residents
• Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activities calendar
• Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need additional assistance
• Foster a sense of community and social interaction among residents
• Document and maintain records of residents' participation in activities
