Under the direction of the Activity Director, the Activity Assistant will assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of activity programs on a daily basis to meet the individual Resident's needs and interests.
Assist and/or lead assigned group or one-on-one activity programs.
Assist residents to and from activity programs.
Report any changes in Resident behavior, safety hazards, or procedural difficulties to the Activity Director.
Assist with monthly activity calendars and display boards.
Assist with evaluation of each resident according to their background, activity interests, abilities, physical limitations, and needs for meaningful activity programs.
Suggest new activities to the Activity Director based on resident interests.
Relieve the receptionist during the noon hour and take responsibility for the front desk phone and reception.
Work in close cooperation with the Activity Director, accept direction, and display initiative to complete activity-related tasks and programs.
1 plus years of experience preferred in assisting with activities with participants of varying cognitive abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
Sensitivity to the needs, interests, and abilities of residents with varying cognitive levels.
