Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Associate - Full-Time
About The Position
Mother Angeline McCrory Manor is a Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, providing spiritually motivated care for the elderly of Columbus for over 65 years. The organization believes that caring for someone is a compassionate calling based on deep-rooted spiritual beliefs. They are currently seeking to hire a Full-Time Activities - Life Enrichment Associate, a role that includes working every other weekend, with a salary range of $14 to $15.50 based on skills and experience.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year of Long-Term Care activities assistant experience required.
- The ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Have a caring helpful patient attitude.
- Enjoy working with the aged and infirm.
- Must be able to read, write, speak English language.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing Care Plans to meet spiritual, social, recreational and emotional resident needs.
- Record and maintain a record of resident daily recreational pursuits.
- Participate in and encourage all residents in all of the life enrichment activities and exercises.
- Assist in transporting residents to and from every activity and exercise.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment.
- Assist in compiling and maintaining an activity schedule, available projects, crafts, resources, etc.
- Recommend equipment and supply needs of the department.
- Make routine visits to residents and perform assistance with individual activities.
