Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Florida.
  • Passion for working with older adults and individuals with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to resident-centered care and promoting quality of life

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in activities programming or a related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents/patients, considering their individual interests and abilities.
  • Provide hands-on assistance and support to residents/patients during activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
  • Encourage resident/patient participation in activities and facilitate social interactions to promote a sense of community and belonging.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident/patient participation in activities and any observations or changes in behavior or mood.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, therapists, and social workers, to integrate activity programs into the overall care plan.
  • Modify activities as needed to accommodate the diverse needs and preferences of residents/patients, including those with physical or cognitive limitations.
  • Assist with the procurement and organization of supplies, equipment, and materials needed for activities.
  • Communicate regularly with residents/patients, families, and team members to solicit feedback, address concerns, and promote engagement in activities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to activities programming and resident/patient care.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations governing activities programming in long-term care facilities.
