About The Position

Involved in the process of training, monitoring/evaluating Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) in a day program setting. Cooperation with families, service providers, advocates, state and federal agencies, representatives and other professionals is an essential component of the job. Must be able to express ideas clearly and concisely in oral and written forms. Written and oral reports and participation in meetings will be required. Will perform other duties as assigned by the Day Program Coordinator/ ICF/IID Senior Assistant Director Quality Supports (Sr. ADQS). Assess, plan, and implement program plans for people with intellectual disabilities, i.e. physical, nutritional, behavior support lesson/training plans. Involved in the process of training, monitoring/evaluating DSPs in a day program setting. Provide supervision of DSPs in the completion of active treatment goals, participation in scheduled activities/outings during Day Program hours. Ensure safety and health and agency/state guidelines, Physical Management Plans are being adhered to. Provide mentoring and corrective support as required. Work with House Management as well as other members of the ICF Team in a collaborative-team effort to facilitate positive relationships and day program environment to promote productive and engaging services. Address any remediation needs in a professional, respectful manner. Plan and implement Day Program activity and outing schedules in accordance with ISP. Assist in the training and implementation of the individuals in their personal goals and outcomes; this may include but not limited to gym activities, music class, Snoezelen room, and outing/field trips. Monitor and record daily attendance for the ICF Day Program. Assist in unloading individuals arriving to the Day Program and loading upon leaving. Monitor lunch for the ICF Day Program. Assist direct care staff and individuals during mealtimes as well as complete assigned duties related to mealtime activities as needed. Assist "Sister Room" ATS's upon need. Provide active treatment in group homes on days a home cannot arrange coming into the center. Assist group homes to meet ratio as deemed necessary. Other duties assigned by DPC or ICF/IID Sr. ADQS.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year experience working in the field of human services with a minimum of six months with people with intellectual disabilities.
  • One year supervisory experience required.
  • Health must be adequate to allow for efficient accomplishment of assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Physical examination required prior to employment by a physician approved.
