The Active Picker/Packer located in Rensselaer, IN, is responsible for accurately selecting parts associated with internal or external customer orders to ensure that customers receive the correct parts and quantities in both a timely and cost-efficient manner. This role supports warehouse operations by maintaining accuracy, following safety standards, and working collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. This role is for the first shift, with the hours of 5:30 am - 2:00 pm unless there is overtime, which requires the hours to be 3:30 am - 2:00 pm.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to stand for 8–12 hours per day.
Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience operating power industrial equipment.
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact constructively with plant employees.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment toward shared goals.
Flexibility to adapt to change and handle additional tasks as needed.
Reliable attendance with a consistent and predictable schedule.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, or order fulfillment environments.
Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Knowledge of DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental compliance requirements.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Receive and review customer orders to identify item(s) and location codes.
Pick and count the correct quantity of the correct item from the correct location.
Enter information into computer systems to ensure accurate inventory counts.
Move inventory using power industrial equipment (PIE).
Keep aisles and storage locations clean and organized.
Pack products correctly, noting requirements for International, VAS, and Purolator shipments.
Stage pallets and product in designated areas for loading.
Follow all safety rules and regulations, including harness use, proper hazardous waste handling, lock-out/tag-out, and use of hearing and eye protection.
Comply with DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
Use designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
