The Active Picker/Packer located in Rensselaer, IN, is responsible for accurately selecting parts associated with internal or external customer orders to ensure that customers receive the correct parts and quantities in both a timely and cost-efficient manner. This role supports warehouse operations by maintaining accuracy, following safety standards, and working collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. This role is for the first shift, with the hours of 5:30 am - 2:00 pm unless there is overtime, which requires the hours to be 3:30 am - 2:00 pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to stand for 8–12 hours per day.
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience operating power industrial equipment.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact constructively with plant employees.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment toward shared goals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to change and handle additional tasks as needed.
  • Reliable attendance with a consistent and predictable schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, or order fulfillment environments.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Knowledge of DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and review customer orders to identify item(s) and location codes.
  • Pick and count the correct quantity of the correct item from the correct location.
  • Enter information into computer systems to ensure accurate inventory counts.
  • Move inventory using power industrial equipment (PIE).
  • Keep aisles and storage locations clean and organized.
  • Pack products correctly, noting requirements for International, VAS, and Purolator shipments.
  • Stage pallets and product in designated areas for loading.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, including harness use, proper hazardous waste handling, lock-out/tag-out, and use of hearing and eye protection.
  • Comply with DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Use designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
