About The Position

The Active Directory/Hyper-V Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the Active Directory and Hyper-V environments for a major banking client. This full-time onsite position requires extensive experience in both Active Directory administration and Hyper-V virtualization, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the systems. The specialist will collaborate with the IT infrastructure team and adhere to industry best practices while supporting a large-scale enterprise environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Active Directory administration and support.
  • 3+ years of experience with Hyper-V virtualization technology.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022).
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related AD services.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell for automation and scripting.
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures for AD and Hyper-V.
  • Experience in large-scale, enterprise environments (preferably within banking/finance).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with other virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Azure).
  • Familiarity with IT security best practices and regulatory compliance in the banking industry.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate).

Responsibilities

  • Manage, configure, and support Active Directory environments, including Group Policy, DNS, and domain controllers.
  • Oversee and maintain the Hyper-V virtualization infrastructure, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Perform routine backups, monitoring, and maintenance of AD and Hyper-V systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting and resolve technical issues related to Active Directory, Hyper-V, and related services.
  • Implement security best practices within AD, including user management, permissions, and access controls.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate and support virtualization technologies.
  • Assist with system upgrades, patch management, and server migrations as needed.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements, particularly within the banking sector.
