About The Position

The Acting & Education Apprenticeship at American Stage Company offers a unique opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience in the theater arts while serving as part of the Touring Outreaching Company. Apprentices will participate in a 10-week school tour, performing throughout the Tampa Bay area and South Florida, while also engaging in various operational aspects of a nonprofit regional theater.

Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Bachelor's degree in theater arts preferred or 2-3 years of performing experience in local regional theater.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the theater.
• Ability to pass background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children in an educational or performance setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform in the annual 10-week school tour of 'Familia de Flamingos' throughout the Tampa Bay area and South Florida.
• Assist in all aspects of theater operations including front of house, box office, marketing, development, special events, artistic, company management, finance, and community engagement.
• Work collaboratively with children and educational institutions to promote theater arts education.
