About The Position

Are you a passionate Acro instructor who loves working with children? Ensemble Schools is looking for experienced Acro teachers to join our teaching team at Evolve Dance Company. Our growing studio in Rockford, IL, focuses on providing quality instruction in a safe environment. We're seeking instructors who can deliver engaging, in-person lessons and contribute to the vibrant dance community. Our positive classrooms are staffed by amazing teachers who go beyond teaching dance technique to developing important life skills in students because Evolve is about More Than Just Great Dancing!® We are looking for someone comfortable with building our acro program from the ground up. Classes would be held on Saturdays for the remainder of the season, but the schedule would be more flexible starting in the summer. We are looking for someone who has the skills to implement multiple levels of classes, assess our interested dancers, and place them accordingly. About Evolve Dance Company Evolve Dance Company started as a dream of Artistic Director, Jenny Vause, and became a reality in June of 2005. Since opening, Evolve continues to provide quality instruction to dancers in Rockford and the surrounding areas. We are very proud of our teachers whose accomplishments include numerous choreography awards at competitions, choreography for children’s theaters, professional back-up dancing, and work with local churches and school musicals. Requirements

Showcase a strong background in dance through educational, teaching, and/or performing experience.
Demonstrate a genuine love for teaching and experience working with young dancers.
Provide reliable transportation and pass a routine background check.
Exhibit traits of dependability, professionalism, enthusiasm, punctuality, and friendliness.

Nice To Haves

Acrobatic Arts or equivalent certification.
Enthusiastic and vibrant personality for engaging young dancers.
Post-secondary dance training experience such as a certificate or degree in dance performance, education, or related fields (not mandatory but a plus).

Responsibilities

Instruct group classes in acro, teaching technique at all levels.
Have and utilize solid foundation in acro dance.
Choreograph dances for students of various levels.
Showcase a strong background in dance through educational, teaching, and/or performing experience.
Demonstrate a genuine love for teaching and experience working with young dancers.
Provide reliable transportation and pass a routine background check.
Exhibit traits of dependability, professionalism, enthusiasm, punctuality, and friendliness.
