The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) leads the nation’s efforts to advance mental health through research, training, and public education focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness. NIMH conducts and supports scientific research across biological, behavioral, clinical, and social domains, and disseminates findings to improve mental health outcomes and services. To support this mission, NIMH relies on modern information technology for research, data management, security, and information sharing. The Information Technology Branch (ITB) serves as the central organization for IT services, ensuring secure, reliable infrastructure and delivering customer-focused solutions in software development, end-user support, IT strategy, and data management. What You Will Do: Acquisitions Support Supports IT software and license renewals, including market research, quote analysis, acquisition planning, and post-award tracking. Analyzes existing software contracts for business alignment, compliance, usage, and budget priorities. Recommends contract renewals, modifications, and terminations. Develops and maintains relationships with vendors and solution providers to obtain favorable pricing and ensure compliance with terms, schedules, and other provisions of purchase orders and acquisition contracts consistent with customer requirements and procurement policies/procedures. Evaluates new information systems products or services and provides recommendations. Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation, and prepares reports and analysis for executive leadership and decision-makers. Property Support Tracks inventory numbers at the NSC location, alerting stakeholders when stock is running low. Receives shipments and alert requesters. Decals accountable property and submits information into the appropriate systems. Coordinates delivery of items that do not go into the storage room. Reports damaged/defective shipments to the vendor. Resolves delivery and acceptance discrepancies. Assigns technology equipment to users, coordinating with desktop support for provisioning, and updates property tracking systems. Receives technology equipment from offboarding users, receives broken or obsolete equipment, updates property tracking systems, securely wipe devices, and prepares equipment for surplus. Provides requesters with property reports. Assists with Property audits. Mobile Device Support Tracks and allocate stock across all NIMH locations. Recommends acquisition purchases when needed and request quotes. Determines whether devices can be redeployed, eligible for recycling credit, or should be surplused. Confirms SIM activation, verify serial numbers and enrollment in NIH’s MDM, and ensures required security policies, applications, and configurations are applied before deployment. Assigns devices to users. Determines whether temporary data plans or service adjustments are needed. Ports numbers and disconnect lines. Troubleshoots mobile devices issues and escalates to appropriate teams. Supports anomaly checks, audits, billing reconciliation, usage pattern analysis, and metric compilations. Other duties as assigned.
