About The Position

As an Assistant Vice President (AVP) in the Acquisitions and Divestitures team at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on strategic M&A transactions. Your expertise in petroleum engineering and analytical skills will be essential in driving successful outcomes for clients, providing technical evaluations for acquisitions and divestitures, and supporting senior bankers in financial solutions to meet business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Petroleum Engineering.
  • Related experience in Reservoir Engineering.
  • Prior experience in performing Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) and field development planning.
  • Working knowledge of Operations and Geoscience disciplines.
  • Experience conducting buy-side and sell-side due diligence.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in an A&D team at an E&P company or investment bank.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing VDRs related to buy-side and sell-side due diligence.
  • Exposure to VDR in A&D team at E&P company or investment bank.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior bankers in advising clients on strategic M&A transactions.
  • Analyze technical petroleum and reservoir engineering data to provide inputs for financial models used to market client assets.
  • Provide engineering support for transactions, including drafting presentation materials and preparing data room documents.
  • Collaborate with team members to generate A&D/M&A ideas for clients.
  • Build and leverage a network of industry contacts to stay informed about technical aspects of the business.
  • Advise and influence decision-making, contributing to policy development and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, setting objectives and coaching employees.
  • Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders to support resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of control and governance agenda.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $106K - $134K per year.
