About The Position

Appalachian Field Service (AFS) is seeking a motivated and highly organized Acquisition Support Specialist to support an electric utility client’s Vegetation Management program across the State of Georgia. This role will primarily function in a Construction Release support capacity, ensuring timely follow-up with property owners and accurate coordination between right-of-way and forestry teams. Applicants must currently reside in the State of Georgia and be self-motivated, professional, and persistent, with strong organizational, communication, and data-tracking skills. This position is an excellent opportunity to begin or further develop a career in the Right of Way (ROW) industry. The role is largely remote after initial training, with some travel to parcel locations required when remote outreach efforts are unsuccessful.

Requirements

  • Works independently with oversight from the Contract Coordinator
  • Demonstrates strong follow-through and accountability for assigned tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple parcels and deadlines simultaneously
  • Prepares accurate files, reports, and status updates consistently and on time
  • Maintains precise documentation and database records
  • Must own or be willing to obtain a Windows-based laptop compatible with AFS and client systems
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word required)
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Persistence and professionalism when working with property owners
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • General understanding of real property, easements, and construction coordination preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GIS or mapping software is a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish beneficial but not required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily follow-up with property owners who have signed Vegetation Management easements to support construction release activities
  • Review work plans and confirm receipt of property owner payments prior to construction activities
  • Contact property owners only by approved methods and during requested hours
  • Escalate unresolved issues through appropriate channels when outreach attempts are unsuccessful
  • Travel to parcel sites as needed when phone calls, emails, or text outreach do not result in successful contact
  • Accurately track and report construction release statuses in the client’s designated database within 24 hours
  • Lead and manage a weekly coordination call with forestry and right-of-way personnel, providing clear and accurate status updates
  • Maintain organized records and documentation supporting construction release decisions
  • Support Acquisition Representatives and Contract Coordinators with data entry, parcel lists, and documentation as needed
  • Promptly notify Contract Coordinators of any property owner concerns, payment issues, or potential public-relations risks
