About The Position

The position requires a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, particularly in the aerospace and defense sectors. The individual will manage and direct the daily execution of contract requirements to ensure that cost, schedules, and performance goals are met. Responsibilities include leading meetings, providing communication and coordination with internal and external customers, and representing management at various program reviews and seminars. The role also involves preparing for contract negotiations, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with government regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in program management
  • Experience throughout the program lifecycle from development through sustainment
  • Experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting
  • Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and supply chain management
  • Excellent customer interface skills
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing manpower planning, project reviews, scheduling and budget control
  • Successful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense programs
  • Excellent leadership and oral and written communication skills
  • Must have a portfolio of programs achieving financial objectives
  • Proficient knowledge of FAR, DFAR, DOORS, RFPs, CDLRs, SOWs, CBAs & ICDs, Information Assurance, PPPs, DoDI 5000.02

  • Program Management certifications preferred (i.e. PMP or DAU level 3)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the daily execution of contract requirements to assure that cost, schedules and performance goals are met
  • Lead all meetings and the integrated product team (life cycle)
  • Provide interface, communication and coordination with internal and external customers
  • Represent management at program reviews, meetings, seminars, etc.
  • Prepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations while assuring compliance with government regulatory guidance
  • Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel and purchased services
  • Report program status to senior management monthly
  • Identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for budget and schedule deviations
  • Perform variance analysis of schedule and cost and present findings to senior management
  • Consult with contracts administration on issues pertaining to contract requirements
  • Ensure execution of contract requirements in accordance with regulations and company policies
  • Provide leadership to program team and resolve areas of conflict
  • Manage inventory effectively
  • Manage Internal Research and Development projects
  • Ensure timely closeout of completed programs
  • Develop and execute program corrective action strategies
  • Understand and develop leading versus lagging indicators
  • Understand lean and process improvement principles
  • Support and communicate the mission, values and culture of the organization
