Requirements

  • Experience supporting DoD or Air Force acquisition and systems engineering programs
  • Knowledge of weapon systems engineering and acquisition processes
  • Experience conducting technical reviews, trade studies, and engineering analyses
  • Ability to work in classified and operational environments
  • BS IRD + 20 years RE; or
  • MS IRD + 15 years RE; or
  • PhD IRD + 5 years RE
  • Clearance Requirement Ability to work in classified and operational environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems engineering support across the weapon system acquisition lifecycle
  • Conduct reviews of armament programs to evaluate alternative plans, designs, and system performance
  • Support management and sustainment of program technical baselines and system specifications
  • Prepare technical documentation defining system and subsystem characteristics
  • Perform system-level design reviews, validation activities, and engineering analyses
  • Analyze and evaluate results of major weapon system engineering efforts
  • Support risk management activities in accordance with AF SEAM processes
  • Conduct engineering trade studies evaluating performance, cost, schedule, risk, reliability, and maintainability
  • Provide technical recommendations, studies, audits, and analyses in support of program decisions
  • Support proposal evaluations, requirements analysis, and system requirements baseline development
  • Review and analyze approved system concepts, user requirements, and allocated/product baselines
