About The Position

Torch Technologies is seeking an Acquisition Program Engineer - Quality – Senior to join the team. Torch Technologies is a 100% employee-owned business dedicated to providing superior research, development, and engineering services to the Department of Defense. As defense contractors, the services we provide directly support the warfighter. This position is located at Hill AFB, UT. As an Acquisition Program Engineer - Quality – Senior your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor’s degree with individual research development plus 20 years related experience
• OR Master’s degree with individual research development plus 15 years related experience
• OR PhD with individual research development plus 5 years related experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance.
• In addition to the requirements in 3.4 and 3.4.1, the Contractor shall possess knowledge and experience in the principles, criteria, and procedures of DoD and USAF policies and industrial quality standards for manufacturing and acceptance of armament systems.
• Knowledge and experience in applying the principles of MIL-HDBK-896, AS9100, and other industry higher level quality management systems.
• Ensuring conformance to Quality related FAR and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) clauses.

Responsibilities

• Development of quality related requirements for SOWs, SOOs and RFPs, as well as development and maintenance of the Government quality plan for the assigned program(s).
• Implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques, Variability Reduction (VR) programs and techniques, and Continuous Improvement programs.
• Identification, evaluation and control of Key Characteristics (KCs) and Key Product Characteristics (KPCs).
• Identification and review of quality related metrics, such as cost of poor quality, effectiveness of preventive and corrective actions, and statistics on root cause of defects.
• Supplier Quality Flow down and assessments/audits of supplier compliance to contractual requirements.
• Participation in production and acceptance test process improvement activities.
• Providing Quality Assurance (QA) support in program milestone activities and analysis of broad QA issues common to all acquisition programs, as well as QA issues particular to specific programs.
• Assessing feasibility of technology transfer/insertion opportunities, development of implementation plans, and participation in the development of business agreements.
• Providing risk assessments of planned or existing schedules which will serve as input to the development/design/production process for system elements.
