Job Title: Part-Time Nurse Practitioner – Dialysis Rounding Location: Williamsburg, VA Position Type: Part-Time Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and clinically strong Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide part-time rounding services for patients receiving in-center hemodialysis. This role is ideal for a practitioner who values continuity of care, enjoys working with chronic disease management, and can function independently while collaborating closely with nephrologists and dialysis staff.

Requirements

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license (state-specific)
  • Board certification (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP)
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in nephrology or dialysis preferred (but not required for strong candidates willing to learn)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine dialysis rounding on assigned patients in outpatient dialysis units
  • Assess patient status, including volume, access, and overall clinical stability
  • Manage and adjust treatment plans for ESRD-related conditions, including anemia and CKD-MBD, per established protocols
  • Review and interpret labs, including adequacy (Kt/V), electrolytes, and hematologic parameters
  • Coordinate care with nephrologists, nursing staff, dietitians, and social workers
  • Document encounters in a timely and compliant manner
  • Address acute issues arising during dialysis treatments
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and quality metrics
