Coffman Engineers is seeking a talented and self-motivated Acoustical Engineer/Consultant with 6–10 years of experience to join our Bay Area team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive acoustical consulting services—from initial feasibility studies through design, permitting, and construction support. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic about collaboration, eager to grow within a multidisciplinary environment, and ready to bring energy and creativity to every project. The position is hybrid where the staff are in-person three days a week (minimum) and have the option to work remotely two days a week. The optional remote workdays of the week are currently Monday and Friday. These guidelines are reassessed periodically. You could choose to work anywhere, so why work at Coffman Engineers? Because we are different – our culture sets us apart. Simply stated, we are a group of creative, high-performing people who like working together and believe that what we do makes a difference. Employees say that it feels like working with a group of friends in a small office while enjoying the benefits and perks of working for a large firm. Our culture isn’t the only thing that makes us different, but it drives everything we do. Coffman offer a comprehensive benefits plan, flexible PTO program, an open collaborative environment, professional development, community opportunities, and lively employee activities. But the best part of working here is being in an environment that allows you to be yourself, be respected, work alongside other intelligent motivated people, and have some good hearty fun while you impact the built environment around you! The Bay Area office of Coffman Engineers was established in 2014 after Coffman had been providing engineering services in this area for many years. Since then, we have grown organically to include four different engineering disciplines working in many different market sectors. We've built the culture of the company in a distinct way. Our Bay Area office is conveniently located near Lake Merritt in Oakland in a 9-story office building. Our office space is 3 blocks from a BART station, and close to a wide variety of restaurants and breweries, the lake itself, and all that downtown Oakland has to offer. Also located nearby are San Francisco, ocean beaches, and redwood groves. We welcome the dedicated and the driven to join us.
