About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Acoustical Consultant to join our remote team. In this role, you will provide expert guidance on sound control, noise mitigation, and acoustic design across a variety of environments, including commercial buildings, residential developments, and industrial facilities. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to deliver high-quality acoustic solutions that meet performance standards and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Acoustical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in acoustical consulting, noise control engineering, or related roles
  • Strong knowledge of acoustics principles, noise modeling, and sound measurement techniques
  • Experience with acoustic modeling software (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPLAN, EASE, or similar)
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Must be physically located within the United States
  • Must have a valid U.S. work permit (no sponsorship provided)
  • Ability to work across U.S. time zones as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in architectural acoustics, environmental noise, or industrial noise control
  • Familiarity with building codes, ANSI/ISO acoustic standards, and environmental regulations
  • Professional certification or membership (e.g., INCE, ASA)
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site assessments (10–15%)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct acoustic assessments, noise studies, and sound modeling for various projects.
  • Design and recommend solutions for sound insulation, noise control, and vibration mitigation.
  • Evaluate building materials and structures for acoustic performance and compliance.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to integrate acoustic solutions into project designs.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycles, from concept to completion.
  • Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and recommendations based on analysis results.
  • Ensure projects meet local, state, and federal noise regulations and industry standards.
  • Stay current with acoustic codes, environmental noise requirements, and best practices.
  • Support environmental impact assessments and regulatory submissions where required.
  • Perform or oversee field measurements, sound testing, and validation activities.
  • Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Provide remote or occasional on-site support for project validation.
