Assignments are broad in nature, requiring appreciable initiative, originality, ingenuity, and strong problem-solving skills. You will be actively helping review designs, update test methods, and document activities.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's (or Master’s) Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later
  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)
  • Must have taken courses in Acoustics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders and executives
  • Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Be willing to work in an office in Northridge, CA
  • Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability from Feb, 2025 through June, 2025 and be able to work 40 hours per week depending on workload
  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in audio technologies, professional audio systems, speech/voice/music processing
  • Understanding of professional audio testing and equipment
  • Applied physics, acoustics and FEA modeling background
  • A love of music

Responsibilities

  • Work experience may include transducer or loudspeaker system design, acoustic measurement and testing, and/or project engineering
  • Loudspeaker design reviews, acoustic measurements, data analysis, product assembly and tear down, reporting
  • Lab organization, equipment setup, calibration, data collection, analysis reporting
  • Get trained by the JBL engineering team on state-of-the-art acoustic measurement techniques applied to loudspeakers.
  • Participates in process improvement activities as approved and directed by supervisor.
  • Operate as a multidisciplinary member of the team of creative, independent individuals
  • Academic project allowed upon manager approval
