About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ACNP/PA to join our Interventional/General Cardiology team. This hybrid role offers a unique balance of clinical and administrative responsibilities. Clinically, the provider will care for patients undergoing interventional cardiology procedures, performing pre- and post- procedure assessments, managing acute and chronic cardiac conditions and collaborating closely with our cardiology team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Administratively, the candidate will serve as a liaison between the interventional cardiology team and the quality improvement department, working collaboratively to analyze workflows and identifying opportunities for improvement. This full time, Monday-Friday day shift position is ideally suited for a candidate who enjoys a balance of hands-on clinical care and meaningful administrative involvement.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Masters degree Physician Assistant program OR Masters degree in Nursing with successful completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in general cardiology, CVICU or CCU.
  • ACNP certification.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) in the state of Tennessee.
  • National certification in a specialty (such as ACNP, ANP, CCNS, FNP).
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.
  • Certificate of fitness from the state of Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patients undergoing interventional cardiology procedures including pre- and post- procedure assessments.
  • Coordinate care and collaborate with the cardiology team to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Provide patient education and participate in daily rounds.
  • Act as a liaison between the interventional cardiology team and the quality improvement department.
  • Analyze workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of quality initiatives and assist with data review.
  • Maintain and update policies, procedures, and algorithms in keeping with current evidence-based practice.
  • Serve as both a resource and role model/mentor to RN staff, surgical heart team and all peers.
  • Keep current with all required Continuing Education.
  • Perform detailed History and Physical, consults, post balloon removal procedure dictations and discharge summaries.
  • Order, interpret, and provide treatment as necessary: CXR, EKG, Laboratory studies, and other diagnostic radiologic studies.
  • Provide staff education.
  • Recognize and treat acute changes in patient status.
  • Collaborate with physician sponsor and ancillary departments as needed.
  • Round on patients daily.
