About The Position

1. Provides primary secretarial support for the eLearning Department, Center for the Enrichment of Learning and Teaching (CELT), and the Council for Adjunct Faculty Development. 2. Responsible for coordinating departmental initiatives, events, and programs from inception through completion. 3. Provides administrative support via e-mail, phone, and walk-ins. 4. Responsible for Administrators’ files, calendar, and correspondence. 5. Prepares reports for the purpose of data collection and analysis. 6. Arranges, participates in, and implements meetings and conferences as directed. 7. Participates in the training and motivation of work-study students. 8. Provides students, employees, or department members with information and directs them to the appropriate resources. 9. Operates office equipment. 10. Maintains accurate files and records via manual or computerized systems. 11. Orders office supplies and instructional/administrative materials as needed. 12. Sorts and distributes mail within the departments. 13. Performs other duties as assigned that are appropriate to the position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous work experience in an academic area/college/school setting
  • Working knowledge of learning management systems like Canvas, Moodle, or Anthology
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated with excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Accuracy and close attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills necessary in order to deal with a multi-faceted office environment, students and the general public

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree
  • Working knowledge of Colleague system
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
  • Previous experience in an academic setting
  • Previous experience with a Learning Management System (LMS)
