This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including health insurance, paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, as well as retirement. The Division of Institutions Administration, Programs and Standards direct the Department of Adult Correction’s efforts in policy and procedure development and review; internal and external audit processes; federal PREA guidelines and audits; American Correctional Associate accreditation for state prisons; and quality assurance. While promoting and ensuring legal compliance with State, Federal and Departmental regulations and policies, as well as audit findings, the Division’s goal is to also identify training needs and best practices. Under the general supervision of the Accreditation and Compliance Director this position will be responsible for expanding and managing the Accreditation and Compliance Section and overseeing the process to gain ACA (American Correctional Association) accreditation for all prisons across the state. A critical ongoing responsibility will be to create and manage an accreditation and compliance process to ensure all operational policies and procedures are being followed. This position will provide direct supervision to a staff of Accreditation and Compliance managers with statewide responsibility to conduct comprehensive performance/program evaluations and assessments of every prison and every operational discipline (Security, Enterprise, Programs, Health Services, Administration, Maintenance/Safety, etc.) to ensure consistent application of all applicable laws, standards, policies, and procedures, and to ensure the safe and effective management of these prisons, and field offices. This position will be responsible for developing industry standard evaluation assessment methods, tools, and reports. This position will manage and coordinate the schedules to include coordinating with other managers to develop interdisciplinary teams to conduct these accreditations. This position will review and approve staff reports. This position will participate in select accreditations, serve on various division-wide committees, provide consultation and training on ACA accreditations and their issues and procedures, as well as other professional association accreditation processes. Statewide travel and occasional overnight travel are required.
