About The Position

The Accounts Payable Supervisor at Intermountain Health is responsible for managing the accounts payable processing function, overseeing a team of Accounts Payable Specialists, and ensuring compliance with laws and internal policies. This role involves hiring, training, and supervising staff, as well as developing and maintaining efficient accounts payable processes. The supervisor will also strengthen internal controls, facilitate communication across departments, and act as a subject matter expert in accounts payable best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business-related field and five years of work experience in accounting or accounts payable, or a Master's degree in Accounting or business-related field and three years of work experience in accounting or accounts payable.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, and scheduling applications.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises central accounts payable processing and develops expectations and job descriptions for Accounts Payable Specialists.
• Hires and trains Accounts Payable Specialists, providing necessary training materials.
• Monitors metrics to maintain high levels of efficiency in accounts payable processing.
• Oversees resolution of issues in processing disbursements and provides timely feedback to staff.
• Implements corrections for deficiencies identified in disbursement-related audits and maintains internal controls.
• Coordinates with other teams to ensure efficient software and problem resolution in accounts payable processes.
• Assists in improving accounts payable processes and coordinates standardization efforts for invoice processing.
• Acts as a subject matter expert and serves as a backup for other Accounts Payable Manager duties.
