About The Position

Requirements

• A thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of accounts payable management.
• A formal, directly-related 4-year degree from a college or university or equivalent specialized training.
• A minimum of three (3) years of directly-related experience in accounts payable or a similar field.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounts payable department, including training, evaluation, and staff development.
• Identify long-term goals of the department in alignment with university objectives and establish plans for effective operations.
• Prioritize and coordinate work activities of the accounts payable staff, providing direction for timely processing.
• Interpret regulations and ensure compliance with state and university standards for payments and reimbursements.
• Provide policy and procedural guidance to campus departments and vendors regarding payment activities.
• Research and resolve complex payment inquiries and anticipate impacts of changes in vendor activities.
• Review audit findings and prepare responses; develop procedures to comply with audit recommendations.
• Recommend changes to accounts payable processes and oversee participation in system improvements.
• Develop, implement, and update internal operating policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
