This summer internship opportunity within the Accounts Payable department is tailored for college students seeking hands-on experience in finance and accounting. As an intern, you will play a key role in processing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring payment accuracy. This dynamic learning environment will allow you to hone your data entry skills, collaborate with experienced professionals, and gain insight into the intricacies of financial operations. You will also learn to collaborate with other internal teams on a day-to-day basis including Accounting, Purchasing and Receiving.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the internship.
  • Must have completed (at minimum) the sophomore year of college.
  • Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in data entry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing vendor invoices both for immediate payment and payments made using corporate credit cards.
  • Verify accuracy of invoices, ensure proper approval processes are followed, and resolve discrepancies with vendors or internal departments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and address any outstanding issues.
  • Assist in month-end closing processes.
  • Support Accounts Payable team with ad hoc projects and tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Accounting, AR/Collections, Purchasing, Receiving) to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
