About The Position

TEMPORARY ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK FOR THE NEW BERN AREA (Summer Position) The Accounts Payable Clerk provides support to the Accounting Team, including managing and processing invoices against POs, invoice issue resolution, and working closely with our chosen vendors. Communicates frequently with all stake holders while working with vendors to ensure timely processing of documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, verifies, and enters invoices and bills into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the data.
  • Matches invoices and bills with purchase orders, contracts, and shipping documents, and resolves and discrepancies or errors.
  • Prepares and issues payments to suppliers and vendors, either by check, wire transfer, or electronic funds transfer, according to the payment terms and schedules.
  • Maintains and updates the accounts payable records and files, such as vendor information, payment history, and outstanding balances.
  • Communicates and collaborates with internal and external parties, such as suppliers, vendors, carriers, customs agents, and other departments, to address any inquires, issues, or requests related to the accounts payable process.
