Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, a prominent human services provider in New York, is seeking an Accountant - Accounts Payable to join our dedicated team of six accounting professionals. This position is crucial for managing the processing and accounting of all vendor bills within our large multiservice nonprofit organization. The Accountant will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and will be responsible for maintaining relationships with key vendors, processing invoices for payment, and analyzing invoices and purchase orders to ensure compliance with payment terms. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in various accounting functions, including Payroll, Budgeting, Audit, and Program Accounting, thereby supporting the mission of our historic settlement house. As an Accountant - Accounts Payable, you will play a vital role in our financial operations, contributing to the overall success of our organization, which serves over 16,000 individuals in need each year. The position requires a strong understanding of general and nonprofit-specific accounting principles, as well as advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software applications.
