About The Position

The Accounts Payable Accountant III position at the State of New Mexico is responsible for auditing and processing the Department's invoices, recording expenses to the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations on payments. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of the Department of Workforce Solutions by ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with applicable laws.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or Business Administration.
• Two (2) years of directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance, and/or budgeting.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or ability to obtain it within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Audit and process the Department's invoices.
• Record expenses to the general ledger in SHARE.
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations on payments.
• Process payments for employee reimbursements and vendor invoices.
• Coordinate with the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) to audit and process payment vouchers and operating transfers.
• Review all pending financial documents and analyze their status to expedite processing.
