About The Position
The Monterey County Public Administrator/Guardian/Conservator Office (PGB) ensures the physical and financial safety of county residents who are unable to do on their own or are deceased. The PGB currently oversees finances and personal needs for more than 600 clients. This position will be responsible for the full scope of Accounting Technician responsibilities, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The Accounting Technician will be responsible for reconciliation, adjusting accounting records, ensure full disbursement of personal need checks, among other duties as assigned. Understand and apply principles, laws and procedures involved in fiscal recordkeeping and accounting functions. The Eligible List established by this recruitment process will be used to fill current and future vacancies, both regular and temporary, as they arise. This classification is part of a flexible series. Incumbents appointed at the lower level of the career series may be promoted up to the higher level of the career series subject to their meeting the employment standards for the higher class and recommendation for their promotion by the appointing authority.
