About The Position
The Accounting Technician in the Finance Department of the City of Rochester is responsible for performing a variety of technical and clerical accounting tasks. This role involves the preparation, maintenance, and processing of accounting records and financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts. The position requires a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the policies and procedures of the Finance Department and City organization. The incumbent will work under general supervision and will be expected to exercise individual judgment in their tasks.
