About The Position

Join our fun and mission-driven team in the Public Health Laboratory as an Accounting Technician 1/2/3, where your accounting expertise supports vital programs that protect and improve community health. Use your financial expertise to review documents, analyze federal grant expenditures, and ensure efficient operations. Partner with the Administrative Officer and lead Accountant to support quarterly statistics, monthly reports, and maintain accurate accounting structures. Collaborate with administrative and program staff to contribute to budget planning and spending projections. Requirements

  • Accounting Technician 1: One year of clerical work experience, maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Accounting Technician 2: One year of entry technical level accounting or clerical bookkeeping experience.
  • Accounting Technician 3: Two years of technical-level accounting or bookkeeping experience, of which at least one year was at the full-proficiency level.
  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail
  • Self-Management: Sets well-defined and realistic goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated; demonstrates responsible behavior.
  • Accounting: Knowledge of traditional accounting practices, including accrual, obligations, and cost methods.
  • Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Customer Service: Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivery of high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement.
