The Accounting Tech II position at the Public Utilities Department in Naples, FL, involves performing technical accounting, fiscal, and administrative work for various accounting functions. In this role, the employee will plan and implement daily operational tasks for specialized accounting functions, such as lease management, while also performing general accounting and fiscal work for other division functions. The responsibilities include receiving and processing financial documents, reviewing them for accuracy, and completing them with the necessary information, such as account codes and vendor numbers. The employee will also prepare and process documents for assigned accounting functions, ensuring their accuracy and completeness, and will accept and post payments for various programs and functions. Monitoring accounting activities against established budgets and projections is a critical aspect of this position. The employee will prepare reports on accounting activities, including grant reporting summaries, budget deviation reports, and revenue and expenditure reports. Establishing and maintaining accounting information in automated financial systems is essential, as is performing data entry for accounting transactions and maintaining automated files and databases. The employee will also reconcile accounting transactions, documentation, bank statements, and the general ledger for assigned accounts, ensuring accurate running balances. The position may require the employee to perform other related duties as necessary, especially during emergencies as determined by the County's Administrative Office.
