We are seeking a unique individual who: Displays excellent soft skills to be a direct point of contact for customers of the division and external customers Feels both comfortable and competent to deliver formal training to an adult audience on topics related to the position Can work ‘behind the scenes’ in a proprietary accounting system to test functionality, provide technical assistance to users, and support security access requests Can perform a variety of transactional accounting functions This position assists state agencies related to\: State Accounting, Budgeting, and Human Resource System (SABHRS) and Statewide Accounting processes. Responsibilities include serving as the main point of contact for the Statewide Accounting help desk, testing system functionality, assisting with year-end processes, completing Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 1099 and 1042 reporting, providing agency training on various SABHRS modules, and other miscellaneous accounting tasks. What are we looking for? Education and Experience: An associate degree in Accounting or Information Technology; AND Two years of accounting experience; OR Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Competencies: Knowledge of: Automated accounting systems Governmental accounting principles, practices, and procedures Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) SABHRS experience is preferred Ability to: Provide excellent customer service Build working relationships Communicate at an advanced level, both verbally and in writing Provide basic technical support to a proprietary accounting system Prepare and deliver training to an adult audience on topics related to position requirements Maintain, update and follow policies and procedures, as well as identify operational efficiencies Prioritize workload and work on multiple tasks Plan, organize, gather information, and conduct research Resolve issues using critical thinking skills Perform work both individually and as a team member Does this sound like you?
