About The Position

Working as Part-time Accounting Support, you will enjoy the opportunity of performing a variety of accounting responsibilities for Fastenal's world-wide locations. This position offers a part-time work opportunity with duties and responsibilities that will vary and increase as the employee demonstrates their capabilities. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. This position will involve exposure to varying aspects of our accounting and finance operations. These opportunities will be afforded to those selected who can commit to working part-time at Fastenal's corporate offices located in Winona, MN. During this time, one will work in a select area within the department and will be given the chance to work in their major field of study.

Requirements

Possess or are working towards a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite particularly utilizing Excel
Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented
Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Work independently and in a team environment
Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

Responsibilities

Processing and participating in various corporate accounting system transactions and procedures
Assisting with the month-end corporate accounting system close processes
Reviewing financial and operational data
Working to identify and implement procedural improvements to enhance efficiency
Completing special projects and data analysis
Performing other administrative tasks as assigned
