About The Position

The Accounting Supervisor at the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, including the analysis of complex financial records and the preparation of financial statements. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with QuickBooks is preferred.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve accuracy in work.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Interpersonal sensitivity when communicating financial information.
  • High adaptability to changing needs and dependability without supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements and other reporting items accurately and timely.
  • Manage month-end close responsibilities and review staff work.
  • Prepare period-end financials including Balance Sheet and Income Statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Review and prepare monthly closing journal entries and maintain reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Manage monthly reconciliation schedules for prepaids, fixed assets, and accrued liabilities ledgers.
  • Perform various analyses on specific General Ledger accounts and budget to actual reports.
  • Prepare and manage all requirements for quarterly and annual budgets and reforecasts.
  • Prepare support schedules related to annual financial statement review, taxes, and other audits.
  • Prepare and record financial transactions during conventions.
  • Assess internal controls and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with filing deadlines for sales tax, 1099s, and tax returns.
