About The Position

This position is responsible for global fleet depreciation and fleet reserves, supervising and training accounting staff in a global accounting department to ensure compliance with Hertz policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Assures records are prepared and maintained in accordance with internal policies and within external compliance. Collaborates with management to develop procedures and systems to ensure the most efficient processes are in place and that all the goals and objectives are met. We expect the starting salary to be around $75k; the actual salary will be determined based on years of relevant work experience.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting
3-5 Years Accounting Experience
Strong data analytics skills
Proficiency in MS Excel
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong leadership skills
Strong analytical and accounting skills
Strong communication skills
Problem solving

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in MS Word, MS Access and Oracle ERP is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare quarterly review of risk vehicle depreciation rates, globally
Prepare or approve vehicle impairment reserves; including vehicle salvages, vehicle damage liquidation and vehicle theft.
Prepare or approve monthly SOX controls surrounding depreciation and reserves processes.
Supervise accounting staff in the preparation of monthly and quarterly accounting close and reporting requirements.
Approve and perform account reconciliations and journal entries for accuracy of general ledger accounts.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices in responsibility.
Analyze variance flux results in the accounts of responsibilities.
Accurately approve and prepare monthly and quarterly reporting requirements timely.
Provide regular updates to management regarding company finances.
Ensure that the Company maintains compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley act, internal controls and G.A.A.P.
Work collaboratively across departmental functions and applicable business partners.
Work closely with major functional leaders of the Company.
Provide leadership, direction, discipline, training for employees.
Project work, as assigned
