About The Position

The Moody Gardens Accounting Summer Internship is a structured, hands-on learning experience designed for college students pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field. This internship provides exposure to the financial operations of a large hospitality, hotel, attractions, and non-profit organization serving over two million guests annually. Interns will gain real-world experience in financial reporting, accounts payable, budgeting, revenue reconciliation, and hospitality-based accounting systems while working alongside accounting professionals and departmental leaders. Understand the full accounting cycle within a hospitality environment Learn revenue reconciliation processes for hotel, outlets, attractions, and events Gain experience in accounts payable and receivable functions Assist with financial reporting and budget analysis Develop professional communication and presentation skills Understand internal controls and compliance procedures Participate in cross-department exposure to understand operational impact on financial performance

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university OR recently graduated (within the past 12 months)
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (required)
  • Basic formulas (SUM, IF, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
  • Pivot tables and basic data analysis
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems preferred
  • Basic understanding of financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
