About The Position

The Accounting Specialist at DOWL plays a crucial role in the Corporate Shared Services team, responsible for performing daily accounting tasks, generating invoices, managing cash receipts, and maintaining project systems. This position requires a dedicated and organized individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in collaboration with other accounting staff and departments.

Requirements

• Three to five years' experience in accounting.
• Accounting degree preferred.
• Experience in architecture/engineering/construction environment preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Highly detail oriented and organized in work.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to self-motivate, act, and operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with Microsoft Applications.
• Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint preferred.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external parties.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in architecture/engineering/construction environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares monthly invoicing and related reports.
• Assists Project Managers with client invoicing questions and collection.
• Researches cash receipts, coding, and posting of receipts.
• Prepares remote bank deposit.
• Assists Project Managers with project coordination including system setup, project maintenance, and document management.
• Reviews monthly financial project reporting to ensure accuracy for revenue recognition and client invoicing.
• Provides back-up assistance to other accounting technicians.
• Assists with audit preparation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
