Job Summary: The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for performing and/or assisting with all types of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and other related functional areas. This position will serve as a back-up for the payroll function, requiring continued involvement in the process to remain current. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing accounting processes and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of AP, AR
  • Proficiency with accounting software, preferably in ERP systems
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Exceptional ability to work independently and dive deep into tasks
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with technology
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer Associate Degree with a business or accounting concentration

Responsibilities

  • Entry and posting of journal entries
  • Support full-cycle accounts payable and the accounts receivable activities at the plant level
  • Support cash entries and daily cash reporting activities
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Perform payroll processing in a back-up capacity, including all related reports and tasks
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Assist with various nuisance and property tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Work closely with plant personnel to assist with accounting and financial-related needs
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal departments
  • Assist with audits and corporate tax preparation as needed
  • Other related duties as assigned
