Requirements

  • Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred; Experience in lieu of a degree may be accepted.
  • Strong desire to provide exceptional client service, has a professional demeanor and the ability to handle matters confidentially
  • Keen sense of accuracy and attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to follow directions and procedures

Responsibilities

  • The main responsibility of the Accounting Specialist will be to work primarily providing support to the property tax team including but not limited to providing mail support, scanning, addresses and parcel verification, and special projects.
  • One of the most integral and important roles of the firm, the Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all appeals are filed timely, all accounts have proper agent authorizations and maintains any logs related to supplemental appeals (i.e. Texas litigation log).
  • Provide best in-class service to our clients, through communications, information gathering, onboarding and delivery.
  • Create and update files and records both online and hard copy, track tax appeal deadlines in multiple jurisdictions
  • Work with clients to help them navigate various client platforms
  • Support team where needed in accomplishing client deliverables
  • Input initial new client property, parcel, tax rates and value data into property tax database
  • Maintain/update national client portfolios
  • Promptly communicate roadblocks and inefficiencies as they arise
  • Apply learning from one client engagement to the next
  • Perform mailings and Federal Express shipping and deliveries
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned
