About The Position

The Accounting Specialist role at Elbit Systems of America is a newly created position within the Finance department of the Warfighter Systems division. This role is designed to support both Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Controllership functions, reporting directly to the Senior FP&A Manager while also supporting the division's Controller. The specialist will be responsible for reporting financial information, assisting in forecasting and closing processes, and leading special finance projects. The position aims to provide critical financial insights to support data-driven business decisions within the division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Previous finance work experience in a project-oriented manufacturing/engineering environment is preferred but not required; entry-level candidates are also considered.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to design finance processes and metrics within the functional area.
  • Proven solid work ethic with the ability to operate independently and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to convey financial terms clearly.
  • Mindset of continuous improvement with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced expertise with MS Excel, including complex formulas and pivot tables.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA/CMA certification.
  • Experience with Access Financials software.
  • Defense contracting experience and knowledge of Government cost principles such as FAR, DFARS, and CAS.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly reporting and forecasting for new business, profit & loss metrics, and cash flow metrics at various levels.
  • Assist with the consolidation of financial and cost data for Monthly Operating and Business reviews and help present financial performance data.
  • Report metrics for financial and cost performance at the Division, Department, and Program levels, ensuring timely delivery of information.
  • Support Basis of Estimate preparation for engineering and manufacturing efforts and contribute to updating manufacturing standard costs.
  • Monitor financial performance of projects and departments, providing analysis and advising management on budget and cost matters.
  • Provide necessary reports and data to accounting for audit activity and monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
  • Help coordinate with various stakeholders for the collection and analysis of data necessary for Long Range Planning and Annual Operating Plan processes.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance & Accounting team and lead special finance projects as assigned.
  • Develop and implement processes for consolidating, analyzing, and forecasting financial results, supporting ongoing reporting automation and finance transformation initiatives.
