About The Position

Performs various responsible accounting related activities involving the payment of employee travel, airfare, car rentals, and DART card program, along with related reporting. Work requires contact with governmental agencies. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Required technical skills using the following or similar systems: Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneNote, SharePoint), Peoplesoft, Tableau etc.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business-related discipline. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: 2 years accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, auditing experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, etc. highly preferred.
  • Auditing and investigative methods, practices and procedures
  • Applicable laws, rules and regulations related to Travel and Accounts payable
  • Applicable mainframe systems and applications, such as USAS and TINS
  • Applicable computer operating systems and relevant applications such as PeopleSoft FSCM or Travel and Expense software preferred Researching, analyzing and interpreting policies and state and federal laws and regulations related to Travel and Accounts Payable
  • Public relations for maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups
  • Analyzing and organizing business and technical data
  • The responsibilities associated with administrative practices and procedures to include writing, editing and report writing techniques, recording meeting notes, record keeping and records management
  • Communicate effectively
  • Exercises logic and reasoning to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; makes decisions that support business objectives and goals
