About The Position

Saab, Inc. is currently seeking an individual who is driven to learn and highly motivated, for the role of Accounting Specialist – Accounts Payable, serving as an integral part of the Corporate Finance team. This position is a regular, full-time position. The ideal candidate will have basic accounting skills, accounts payable experience, accuracy, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an accounting discipline or business environment, government contracting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Oracle eBusiness Suite or IFS experience preferred but not required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Sound and consistent business judgment, a good grasp of company priorities, and a sense of urgency.
  • High level of enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and the ability to remain flexible to meet internal and external needs.

Responsibilities

  • Review, match, and voucher all vendor invoices with appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Resolve price/quantity variances to ensure all invoices and purchase orders are properly accounted for.
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Supply Chain and Government Compliance, to ensure all matters are handled promptly and in adherence with procedures.
  • Post reclasses to support account/project reconciliation and government compliance.
  • Assist with month-end closing.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Assist with other projects as needed.
